Henry Davis Inducted into the 2025 Meat Industry Hall of Fame

Greater Omaha Packing CEO recognized for decades of leadership, industry advocacy, and philanthropy.

Omaha, Neb. — A third-generation leader whose impact spans business growth, industry advocacy, and community service, Henry Davis, Owner and Chief Executive Officer of Greater Omaha Packing Company, Inc., was inducted into the 2025 Meat Industry Hall of Fame on Tuesday, January 27th at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA.

This prestigious recognition, established by The National Provisioner, honors individuals whose leadership and vision have made lasting contributions to the North American meat and poultry industry. Davis joins a distinguished 2025 class that reflects excellence across processing, science, and allied sectors including: Dr. Mark Miller, Dr. Craig Bacon, Dr. David Meisinger, Fritz and Gary Bernegger, and Michael E. Strauss.

Davis leads Greater Omaha Packing Co., Inc., a third-generation, family-owned company founded by his grandfather over a century ago. He became CEO in 1987 and guided Greater Omaha’s growth into an internationally recognized supplier of premium beef.

Under Davis’s leadership, the company has implemented sustainable meat production practices focused on environmentally responsible operations, transparency, and long-term efficiency. He has also prioritized workforce stability by implementing innovative employee benefit programs, resulting in higher retention and a highly skilled, experienced team.

Beyond Greater Omaha, Davis has played an active role in shaping the broader industry through more than three decades of involvement with the North American Meat Institute and its predecessor organizations. He is a respected voice in the meat industry, frequently engaging with state and federal policymakers on matters that impact processors, producers, and customers.

Davis’s impact reaches beyond the meat industry through his long-standing philanthropic work, with a focus on children and underserved communities. He has contributed over $10 million to Project Harmony, one of the nation’s leading child advocacy centers, and supported a wide range of healthcare, cultural, and youth-focused organizations. His long-standing support of the Boys & Girls Club is honored through a facility that bears his name.
